Jarkko Ruutu bites Andrew Peters

As if the NHL needed more bullshit, with Sydney Crosby instigating fights now to one player biting another. Ottawa Senators' gutless agitator Jarkko Ruutu bit Sabres' enforcer Andrew Peters last night. Funny how just Peters got a penalty for it too. Watch the video below.

"It's a pretty stupid thing to do, regardless of who you are, it's just not part of the game of hockey," said Peters, whose thumb was cut.

"I've never had anyone bite me before, I didn't know that happened. The refs didn't see it. That's unfortunate. I saw a replay of it and it's pretty evident that he did bite me and I have a lot of confidence that the league will take the proper procedures and go about it the right way. I'm not going to say anything that's going to get me in any trouble. Like I said, I'm going to let the league deal with it."

Comments from Ruutu:

For his part, Ruutu denied biting Peters.

"He had his finger in my mouth, but I didn't bite him," Ruutu said.

Ruutu is the reason there should be no instigator rule. If there wasn't we wouldn't be doing this shit, because then he would get his ass handed to him every night. He's just a sad pathetic excuse of a hockey player.

Gayest hockey fight ever

This is probably the gayest thing I have ever seen in the NHL, what an embarassment. Washington Capitals' Alexander Semin and New York Rangers Marc Staal drop the gloves and fight, not many punches thrown, but then Staal falls to the ice and then Semin starts slapping away at Staal. It is some real funny shit, you gotta watch, see video below. Look at his skinny girly arms flapping away up and down at Staal, what a bitch. LOL it is truly hilarious. Semin will always be known for that now, freakin hilarious. And listen to the Rangers broadcasters, they're laughing at him, so funny.

Pussy Sydney Crosby strikes again

Well if you missed it Saturday you missed some more cheap shit by NHL super star Sidney Crosby. Crosby jumps Brett McLean off a faceoff and pulls his sweater over McLean's head and continues throwing punches while McLean can't see. That's pretty classless for a guy who is suppose to be the super star of the NHL. And after the game he says McLean agreed to fight, well if you watch the video below you'll see McLean have no idea what Crosby is doing as he is trying to win the faceoff and Crosby drops the gloves and grabs McLean.

"He said something before the drop but I really didn't pick up on it. So, I kind of wish I had now. Like I said, everyone can understand what he was trying to do for his team. He's their leader, their captain."

Said Crosby: "I asked him to go, and he said yes. And usually, yes means yes. I mean, I wouldn't have wasted 20 minutes in the box for that. I guess he didn't take me serious. I don't know, it wasn't worth 20 minutes, though, that's for sure."

Did you discuss fighting him? "We had not, at any point. It was as surprising to me as it was to you guys."

Did you ever see it coming? "No I didn't."

Was Sidney jawing at you earlier in the game? "Before the face-off, like I told you yesterday, he was saying something but I didn't really hear it. I didn't know what he was saying, didn't really pay attention to it."

Did you ever say yes to him as he said? "No, I mean, I don't know where that came from."

And in case you missed it in December, Crosby went beyond classless and dirty in my opinion, as he threw punches at Boris Valabik from behind, and at his groin.

Patrick Roy's son goes nuts

Ex-NHL goalie Patrick Roy has a son who is a goalie that went nuts in the Quebec Remparts at Chicoutimi Sagueneens game on March 22nd. Watch what happened below.

I'm all for hockey fights and brawls but watch the other goalie, he just stood there and obviously didn't want to fight but Roy grabbed him and kept throwing punches at him even while he was down on the ice. That's really cheap and just stupid.

Kovalev and Hollweg cheap shots

In today's Rangers-Canadiens game we had some action. First Kovalev got away with an elbow to Ryan Hollweg's head. So Hollweg loses his cool and later hits Kostitsyn from behind into the boards. Kostitsyn looks hurt at first but gets up slowly and comes back later to play in the game. After the hit was made Josh Georges tries to go at Hollweg, and it looks like Hollweg tries to go after Saku Koivu. Colton Orr and Francis Bouillon got together and traded punches but nothing much landed (Bouillon wears a visor). Watch all of this below.

Jarkko Ruutu knees Ilya Kovalchuk, then fights Steve McCarthy

On January 30th, in the Penguins-Thrashers game, Thrashers' All-Star Ilya Kovalchuk was kneed by Penguins' agitator Jarkko Ruutu and then Thrashers' defenseman Steve McCarthy went after him and tried to pound the ducking away Ruutu. Hopefully Kovalchuk isn't out for a long time.

Quotes:

McCarthy said: "First of all, Ruutu's running at your best player, whether it was a clean hit or not, and it wasn't," McCarthy said. "It hits knee on knee, hurts one of our best players, and that can't happen."

And did you think it was a cheap shot? Yeah, I did," McCarthy said.

Ruutu disagreed. "I barely hit him. I didn't change direction. I just went for a hit," Ruutu told reporters. "I got five minutes for fighting, and I didn't even throw a punch."

Colton Orr vs Wade Brookbank 2x

On January 29th, the Rangers and Hurricanes met up for the first time since Colton Orr layed out Matt Cullen with a huge hit I thought there may be some fights in this one and it did not disappoint. Colton Orr and Wade Brookbank dropped the gloves twice. Their first fight was the better and Orr got the win in that one as after the fight Brookbank had some cuts and red marks on his face. The second fight wasn't much but it was a fight. Watch them both below.
